Parish Life 2019
Your contributions help fund our Office for Parish Life, which encourages parishioners to get involved and become active in their faith.
Sixty high school students and student team members took part in the International Student Leadership Institute (ISLI) at Misericordia University this summer. ISLI is one of several Youth Ministry programs offered by the Diocese and funded in part through gifts to the Appeal.
RESURRECTION PARISH, MUNCY
Jesse Martin is the pastoral associate at Resurrection Parish. Working closely with pastor Father Glenn McCreary, Jesse coordinates youth and adult ministries at the parish.
Father McCreary said that hiring Jesse “came as a result of a process of discernment that was encouraged by the Office of Parish Life to build a greater sense of community especially for young adult Catholics and to grow our faith formation opportunities.”
ST. PATRICK PARISH, SCRANTON
Newlyweds Joseph and Kimberly Petro participated in the pre-marriage sessions offered by the Office of Parish Life. Fr. Richard Fox, pastor at St. Patrick Parish, encouraged the couple to attend to strengthen their bond and deepen their faith.
Joseph said, “I believe the classes that the Diocese offers are very beneficial, especially to young couples such as us, to allow us to prepare for the hurdles and hardships that come with it but also the joy.”
