Catholic Social Services
Inspired by Christ’s call to care for those most in need, Catholic Social Services serves thousands of people across our Diocese each year with compassion, dignity, and hope. Through your generosity, individuals and families receive food, clothing, emergency assistance, housing support, and other critical resources that help them navigate financial challenges and build a more secure future.
Over the past year, we have expanded those who are assisted through our partnerships with Children & Youth Services and by operating the Lackawanna County Code Blue Shelter provided emergency shelter on the coldest nights throughout the year. Funding through the Catholic Ministries Appeal enables Catholic Social Services to carry out the corporal and spiritual works of mercy to which we are called through the Gospel.
